Art Calendar

A while back I visited Art From the Heart in Harrogate on one of their workshop preview days and was very taken with an art calendar made by Kate Crane. Back then I knew nothing of her work, but knew I should love to have a go at making my own art calendar. I found her web page, and looked at more of her stuff on Flickr, and was hooked! Having invested in her DVDs, a few paints and bits of kit and decided to give it a try...here are some of my pages.

I found these images when trawling for downloads and loved them; primitive is my thing I suppose. I got them from deviant scrap, a great source of images for art journaling. I used  Choc Baroque  halloween stamps and my background uses golden paints.

Grungy grey always sums up November! Stamps are by Stampotique and Indigo Blu. I love doodling and drawing in each of the little squares, and it is fun to look back at!

I had a ball with December! Loved the bright red background after the quieter colours and had a lot of fun with my Dylusions stamps! Cursed a bit about the border though...stamped the holly onto the red background, then again onto card to paint it; had to cut out each leaf and then match it to its outline...hardest jigsaw ever! The best bit was the use of stickles to add some sparkle. Christmas rocks!

So 2013 arrived and after having lots of new goodies for Christmas I was keen to get cracking. Anyone who knows me would not be surprised to see the use of snowmen; I love them! The border stamps are Dylusions, as is the snowflake stencil for the background. The snowman with the scarf is by Creative Impressions (Tatty Button) and the other is from the Simply Gorjuss range, though I added the hat...not sure where that is from.

Well February had to have a love theme I suppose, and as I love to craft this page sprang to mind. All stamps are Stampotique I think; the background was made using the dylusions spotty template and a flowery one I found in my stash. Although I am not a fan of pink or hearts I actually like this page!
