My name is Catherine and I live in a village in Yorkshire. I am not a yorkshire lass however; I originally come from down south. I live with my three black cats, who are very gorgeous, and very spoilt! They often try to help me with craft projects which can lead to interesting results, such as pink pawprints on the window sill...lovely!! Anyway here is the gang...
I teach part time in a primary school; when I was full time I had little time to craft or pursue any interests. As those who teach know, it is a stressful job which takes every waking minute...yes even those long holidays. So I am thankful for the fact that I now job share and have plenty of time to play with my craft supplies.
I will try my hand at most things crafty: knitting (not my strongest suit, but I can make socks and knit baby clothes...adult jumpers take too long!) lace making, cross stitch, crochet (very basic...I did a pot holder and I am very proud of it!) beading and of course paper craft. As a child my favourite things for Christmas were new pens, crayons and a blank pad of paper to draw and create in. I still love and use these but now I also like stamps, paint, spray inks...the list is endless. Let's get one thing straight though...I cannot draw well. I am trying to learn, but have a long way to go. For me crafting is the way that I forget about the strains and stresses of everyday life and keep sane. Up til now I have only showed my work to a few kind friends who have been lovely about it...I am still not entirely sure why I am putting it out there for others to see...
